North Georgia is known for its Southern cuisine, and Ellijay has many fine offerings to choose from. We have your traditional chain restaurants located in our modern downtown district, as well as local favorites including Cantaberry Restaurant in our historic downtown, Bigguns BBQ, Cornerstone Cafe for breakfast and Mike's Ellijay Restaurant for good southern food. Every palette will be satisfied!

Ellijay and North Georgia is known for its soul-enriching nature! Whether its Fish Trap Park located just down the road from our cabin to the largest waterfall in the Southeastern US located in Amicalola State Park, you are in for a treat! Hiking the Appalachian Trail, tubing down a local river in the summer, exploring caverns, fishing on Carter's Lake or just taking in the star-filled night sky are all highlights of your trip to Golden Slumbers.

Golden Slumbers Cabin is your place for peace and comfort. Some of our amenities include: gas log fireplace, upper deck with gas grill, hot tub, fire table, log rocking chairs, laundry room, fire ring in the backyard, king-size bed, fluffy towels, Smart televisions in the living room and bedroom, all kitchen appliances, central air and heat, paved road, secure gated access to the community.

Did you know that Ellijay is the apple capital of Georgia? Apple orchards abound, and there is nothing like an apple fried pie and ice cream to make your stay special! You don't have to travel far for the cabin to enjoy farm fresh apples, baked goods and produce. Some of our favorites are Panorama Orchards and Farm Market, R&A Orchards, BJ Reece Orchards and Red Apple Barn Orchards. Make sure to bring home an apple pie, some home-made apple butter or cake as a delicious souvenir!

The fertile soil in Ellijay and North Georgia is perfect for growing grapes, and we have some of the finest wineries in the south! Our wineries and craft breweries are just a short drive from our cabin and offer beautiful mountain views, live music and tasty nibbles. Some of our favorites include: Ott Farms and Vinyards, Cartecay Vinyards, Engelheim Vinyards, and Fainting Goat Vinyards in Jasper. For some crisp hard cider or craft beer, try Talking Rock Brewing Company, Riverstreet Tavern in our historic downtown district and Catecay River Brewery. Cheers!

The jewel of our little town, our historic district is home to restaurants, antiques, theater and more. Established in 1834, Ellijay is the seat of Gilmer County and a wonderful place to spend the day. Start your visit in the Downtown Welcome Center and learn about how Ellijay got its start. Just down the street is Gilmer Arts Theater which hosts local stage productions and music. Visit their museum for exhibits and gifts. As you make your way through downtown, you will find a tempting array of restaurants, places to "wet your whistle", specialty shops and antique stores. Don't forget to buy your LIJ t-shirts and bumper stickers before you leave!
